AA Gill is away

Just started this book - AA Gill is away - it's a compilation of his travel writings.

the following quotes are from the forward.

"travel writing isn't really an exploration of where you've been, so much as an explanation of where you've come from." [This I've learned, but it was nice to read in print.] "The relevance of this candidish truth depends on where you call home."

well anyway, just wanted to remember those. so far the book is honest, humorous, and i think it will be comforting as i get ready to leave.
